Baking Snickerdoodles on a Quiet Morning
It's a perfect morning for baking cookies. I have to admit, one of my favorite cookies is Snickerdoodles so my kitchen is sweetly cinnamon-and-sugar scented right now.
Thought you might want to pull together a batch of cookies so I'm sharing the recipe.
Oh, and if you'd like to check out the story that features these sweet gems, Snickerdoodle Snowmen is available for pre-order.
1 cup shortening
1 ½ cups sugar
2 eggs (egg substitute is fine)
2 ¾ cups sifted flour
2 t cream of tartar
1 t baking soda
½ t salt

1 cup shortening
1 ½ cups sugar
2 eggs (egg substitute is fine)
2 ¾ cups sifted flour
2 t cream of tartar
1 t baking soda
½ t salt
Combine shortening and sugar until well mixed and fluffy. Add the rest of the ingredients, mix well.
Roll dough between
your palms to form balls.
Combine 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon in a small bowl. Roll each ball in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
