Monday Mentions Welcomes Darlene Fredette

Chatting today with author Darlene Fredette!

Welcome to the blog today, Darlene.  Let's get right to the questions because I know lots of people are looking forward to getting to know you.

Do you have any pets?

I have a three-year old Yellow Labrador. My husband is a huge Rolling Stones fan, so our lab is named after Keith Richards. Mick Jagger’s nickname for Keith is Keef. We added an ER for Keefer.

Are you a traveler or a homebody?

I love being home, but I also enjoy weekend trips to visit my aunt three hours away or a vacation at a cottage by the lake.

Sweet or savory?

Definitely sweet. I am a dessert person who can eat dessert before dinner.

If you could travel to a time period to visit for a month, where would you go? And why?

I would visit Ireland (I have Irish background) and Scotland to tour the castles. I am fascinated by the designs and of how many castles have stood the test of time.

If money were no object and time was unlimited, is there something you would like to do or someplace you'd like to go?

Instead of renting a cottage by the lake, I would love to own one. We would retire and spend our days lounging on the deck overlooking the lake and watch the birds and loons fly overhead.

Cherry Red is part of The Wild Rose Press' One Scoop or Two Series. Can you tell us a bit about the story?

The back cover blurb:

This summer, ice cream entrepreneur Carly Redd's only focus is expanding her business—until she's coerced into attending her ex's engagement party. Showing up without a date is unthinkable. She reluctantly agrees to be escorted by her brother’s co-worker, although doing so breaks her rule of not dating firefighters.

The daughter of the town’s fire chief should wear a Do Not Touch sign, but firefighter Noah Harding's interest blazed the moment he saw Carly. Agreeing to be her fake boyfriend is a no-brainer, but convincing Carly to trust him with her heart is harder than extinguishing a fire.

Overstepping the platonic-only rule is as dangerous as fire and ice swirling into a tempting combustion.

Sounds yummy! Readers, you can pick up your copy of Cherry Red here.

Thank you so much for visiting today, Darlene. Loved having you on Monday Mentions!
